Has anyone got a photo of the factory stereo (or rather, mono..) from an older hatch (pre - 84)?

coz I wanted to see what one looked like! :D

was thinking about a project where the original radio provided volume control for a hidden amp.

Maybe kindof a pointless idea, since my dash is already hacked up to fit a stereo... :P

I think I still have a couple of AM radios laying around. I'll have a look when I get a chance.

I saw it the other week on overhaulin'.

They used an original cassette deck face, which they converted to being a built in iPod holder, so the ipod went all the way in. all the functions still worked FF, rewind volume eject etc.

Effective I think.

i am also looking for an orignal radio for my 83 hatch i wanna use the original head unit, and reconigure the on/off switch and volume knob to control my other stero hiden away /> anyone know of what they look like or know someone selling pm me please,,,,

I still have original mon radio in MB 85 I can get a pic of that if that helps??

that's ok, the dash was so badly cut up so I abandoned the idea I had, and made up a kind of blanking plate that covers the hole, with some VU meters and switches.
