This is a VPS (virtual private server) and therefore the hardware is shared with other sites. If the US is awake and one of their sites uses the Hard disc a lot then you may well see a slow-down in that regard.

Understood, but the speed issue was happening before the switch to a VPS setup. :?

At any rate, it just took roughly a minute for me to load the main page of the forum. Page loads are taking roughly 10-20 seconds within the forum, same for the gallery.

Time is 11:00am.

-edit-

11:05am and everything is working quickly again! This is very odd indeed.

This site has always been on a VPS, before that it was on my dedicated server which went to HELL!!

The slowness is entirely due to hard disc access time. Sorry about that folks.
I figure that it wont get any worse. The only reason I upgraded the server before is because I had more sites running on it. Now i have very few so all the more power goes to Tamon.[/i]

Loading time on the gallery is about 3 minutes per page ATM. :-o
I can't understand what would be taxing the server so hard at 7:30AM US time. :?

The forum has also been throwing some SQL errors on initial load as well.

Not to mention after clicking submit reply it takes upwards of 30 seconds to process. That was at about 8pm.

edit

And still doing it now at 10.25. :?

The gallery has always been slow.. however I've not had the same trouble with the forum. Can you email me the sql errors if they occur, Brayden? Cheers. :)

EDIT: I've enabled the performance caching on the gallery. I thought it was on, but it wasn't. I've also lowered the number of rows of galleries/images per page so they load quicker.

Was down since last night due to a DNS problem. All fixed now thanks to eDave.
