CEEJ,
Just curious, What brand of tyre do you have?
Did you have any trouble getting them?
Cheers

Currently running the Sime tyre. I need to replace them hell bad but wasn't driving the ute for ages so I didn't bother. Nor did I bother looking for them. I got mine on a set of wheels that I bought so everything worked out well. I will have to replace them soon though, just have to see what the deal is with the car in the near future.
Garry. Nuff sed!
i reckon the 539's are good! handel well... il send them another email and see what i can find out

WOW
That has got to be the first time i have ever heard the 539's described as a bad tyre...
Value for money, i personally rate them as being one of the best tyres on the market.
Ralf, try running the 539's on the rear with the yoko a509's on the front, i use to run this combination on my V8 XE falcon, 265/50x14 rear and 245/50x14 front and loved the combination.
honda_mightyboy... don't be so cheap, $750 for 4 tyres is great value... It costs me over $600 a corner for the tyres on the GTR

Yeah... JAFA wages do suck!!
My 17" inch tyres only cost me $260-00 ea for a 275/40x17 but they are just an el cheapo FEDERAL tyre that i mainly use for normal everday driving (maybe not everyday, more like every couple of weeks), skidpan days and motorkhana's. although they are only a cheap tyre i have been pleasently suprised with how well they handle and hold up to the punishment.
Its the 18" Dunlop's that i use on track days and hill climb events that are the killer and i go through about 4 sets of these a yr. the costs of a good quality street tyre to a road legal race tyre is almost the same, with the only major difference is that the street tyre lasts a little longer and the race tyre sticks to the road like s@#t to a blanket.
And now a quick edit to a previous post...
I stuffed up and mixed up the tyre coding, it was the yoko 352's i had on the back of the XE not the 359's as previously stated.
I actually had the 359's on my EB fairmont, it never got the punishment dealt out to it that the XE got but overall i found the 359's a very good tyre. as for how well the 359's cope under the stresses of a V8 compared to the 352's i couldn't tell.
Sorry Ralph, you maybe right in saying that the 359 is not a tyre suited to hard driving like the 352 is. it is the first time i have heard of someone not liking the tyre though.
I loved the 352's on the V8 XE

Hi brayden,
as for the performance , i'm not a fast driver anyway, but they feel heaps better than the tyres i had before which where 165/70/13.
The car feels more natural now, (if that makes sense). It accelerates better, turns better, corners and hills are easier now.

Not to mention that it looks better too!

The rims are stockies off an old ford laser early to mid 80's, they actually have the ford symbol on them.
I just got lucky, i went to a tyre shop to get some tyres for 13" rims that i already had, but the one's i had where wrong stud pattern. these were the cheapest he had. $200 for rims and second hand tyres.
I had to get bigger wheel nuts though.
I'm not sure on the offset but they are 5" in width
