Late notice is better than none mate! Don't think the Royal Canberra Show has done a ute show before, hense why I had no idea about it.

Now the logistical nightmare begins - can I get an unregistered and unroadworthy ute with no motor or gearbox rebuilt in 4 weeks?
I'll give it a shot!!!

... and just when I said I wouldn't give myself a deadline for completion ever again.

Unregistered and unroadworthy???
That's no good mate.

You must be making some massive mods, cause last I knew it was in at the panel shop for a new bumper or two? Surely that must well and truely be finished by now?

For anyone who will be in the area, [YLD80Y] will be at the RCS Ute Show tomorrow, and by the looks of the schedule it will be on display for most of the day in Arena 2, behind the burnout strip. 8)

Oh, and could someone tell me what the hell a "key banger" is? Apparently if I do that or rev my engine I will be removed from the grounds. :NFI:

I can't remember exacltly how it's done, but my mate blew his muffler off doing it.. It only works on carby cars though I think. I think you flood the carby somehow and crank it over.. never been partial to actual details.

oyu rev up the motor and on deceleratoin switch the ignition off and turn it back on just before it gets to idle and it ignites the unburnt fuel in the exhaust creating a loud bang and flames out the exhaust
best results are achieved when coasting down a long hill

A winner is me! :D

I managed to collect first prize in the "Town ute" category of the show, which was a surprise considering the sheer quality of the other utes in the running!
The winners of each category (6 in total) were asked to join the grand parade, which was pretty cool!

It's nice to have hard work pay off every now and again. :) Thanks to Tom and Kate for coming along and putting their support behind me for "people's choice" as well. Just missed out on that one. ;)

Pics up soon.
