Howdy all, just thought I would start a thread to detail my F8B hybrid turbo installation so I can use it to compile an article when the job is done.

I'll be posting pics as I go, so if you're not interested in hearing me ramble on then you can just keep an eye on the gallery here:

There are already a few pics of my dry fit and other components, but this gallery will definately grow.

As for the status of the conversion, currently I have everything I need to fit the turbo setup besides a spacer plate to go underneath the carby so the linkages clear the F8B intake manifold. I'll start fitting some of the bits in the next week before the Canberra Ute Show, but sadly it will be N/A for that event.

Yeah that is a bit of a worry, but worse case I'll get a new alloy radiator made up. The stock radiators are pretty dodgy anyway.

Gallery has been updated with some more progress shots. I've been suffering from a severe lack of interest in the last few months so things have been a little slow.
Seemed like every corner was blocked by another problem, but I'm finally turning the tables on the little green bastard!

Currently I've completed the following:
  • Dummy fitted all components to the motor and found that the custom dump pipe fouled on the stock radiator.
  • Bought a new high-flow triple core radiator to replace the stock one.
  • Made a spacer plate for the Charade carby.
  • Trial fitted the intercooler to work out where the bugger will fit.
Now that everything fits I have to pluck the motor and fit the new sump, then refit the motor, bolt everything together, hook up the piping, then wire the fuel pump.

When all that is done it should be time to boost!
