I read recently someone comment that the Mighty boy is the most frustrating car ever. Maybe it's a Suzuki thing, and maybe my Super Carry is even more so.
It idles, but when I put my foot down it sounds like it sucks in air only and dies. With advice from Suzi world I changed the coil, cost $66 plus plenty in fuel and time. Result? No difference! I have just finished rebuilding the carby. Yippy! It started and ran, I could even put my foot down and it revved. I took it for a drive and the same problem happened and now my tiny van is sitting on the side of a highway.
It is tuned to perfection, it sounds as though it is starving of fuel but if I remove the fuel hose from the carby it pumps torrents of fuel.
Any ideas? Karu
Frustrating little van, GRRR!
Points? HT leads? It mightn't be fuel related.

I put new points in it and tuned it to perfection, but I didn't change the condenser as I believed that if a condenser stuffs up it will not work at all. I have a new set of leads and forgot to put them on. It was easier and cheaper to put it on the tow truck and have mechanics figure it out. At least I have a spare coil and the carby has been rebuilt.
Some people have even suggested I replace it with something more reliable. They know nothin, I have a Super Carry!

Okay, after getting my Carry towed to the mechanics and waiting 4 days for them to fix it at a cost of $155.20 for a condenser to be replaced I got it almost home when it broke down again (in the same spot it did when I had to have it towed) I could ring them and tell them but frankly I don't trust them -their work and cost- so I am going to put it to you. Exactly the same problem is happening. I rebuilt the carby but still fuel comes out of the mouth and runs out of the air cleaner. Could it be something is wrong with the float?
Could very well be a problem with the float. For the cost of $80 for a rebuild kit I would pull the thing apart and see.

No idea, and I would imagine they'd be a tough part to find!

It has occurred to me that it only appears to happen when it is on a hill. Also I noticed a drop of oil at the rear of the 5 speed gearbox and it was red. I cannot imagine my old mans mechanic for the past 15 years believed it was auto.
Alot of manual boxes use auto fluid as it makes for easier shifting and has cleaners in the fluid....the only time I would NOT use auto fluid is when a heavy grade oil is recommended.. ie. light trucks, etc....
the float could well be the same as the f5a/f8b or maybe the g10a or g13a, you might want to go to the wreckers and check a few cars....first though I would be checking the float height was set correctly...

The float is brown plastic. A non adjustable piece of plastic sits on the needle. So I have no idea how it can be adjusted. I took the carby off and hooked it to the fuel lines and turned the ignition on and as soon as I put it on an angle fuel poured out of it. This was the first thing to happen when the van originally stopped working.
If I had the money I would convert it to straight LPG and not have to worry about the carby issues any longer, but I don't have the money for LPG.
This weekend I want to pull the engine out so I can pull the head off. I do not want to do this, but as my old man rarely drove it I am certain that he never put radiator coolant in it. So as you can imagine I have to have a good look at the head. I spent well over an hour when I got the van putting through a cooling system flush and today after pulling off the top radiator hose I stuck my finger in the radiator and it was so black and greasy.
Up until this moment I had sort of planned to do the head, but I had to take out the radiator so I can change the timing belt; well first I have to determine the timing belt. I have already paid for it but now I have to tell him if it is a round tooth or square tooth.
So now I find that I have to pull the head off there is only one more thing that concerns me. Are new head bolts readily available?

You adjust the float by bending the steel plate/spring it is mounted on. If fuel pours into the carby throat then it is likely that the needle/seat is damaged, or the float is jammed.
F8B EFI turbo - Three pots and a snail.
It doesn't have anything like that. It has two solid posts with a hole drilled through both and you put the plastic float in between them and insert a thin 25mm rod through the posts and the coinciding hole in the float. The float is plastic with an immovable bit of plastic that sits on the nonadjustable needle. The needle is new
There should be a flat steel spring under the float, attached to the needle. This is what maintains the float height.

Hi Karu...
Is your float something like this?

This is what I found inside my carby - Non standard I'm told. Not sure where it came from - neither was the carby specialist I ended up using to sort my problem.
Cheers
