alto works f5a distributor to ecu - help please

Help please .My electrician is trying to wire up the f5a I bought fro John in Adelaide, but he thinks there is something missing.
Is there anything between the distributor and the ecu? All wires have been cut and it looks like something is missing?

Yes, you need the ignitor module and EFI coil.

Local models don't have an ignitor module. You might be able to use a GTi ignitor and coil, but figuring out the wiring could be tricky. I'm using a Bosch 027 ignitor with my setup, but again that's little help to you without a an ECU pinout diagram.

Would anyone have a picture of the Ignitor module and EFI coil from a F5a WORKS? I am a litile bit lost. John believes the module is inbuilt in the distributor, my electrician thinks otherwise and I have no idea of what the EFI coil looks like.

And until sorted out, I am on foot...........

The ignitor isn't built into the distributor. The only thing in there is a trigger that sends a signal to the ECU. The ECU outputs to the ignitor, which then signals the coil.

I had to wire an ignitor in when I fitted the adaptronic ecu to my cappo.
Its pretty easy as all they are basically is just a solid state relay.
You can get aftermarket ones easily like the Bosch one Brayden fitted. I fitted the same one and it cost about $ 50.00

I am still having problems: there is no spark coming out the coil.
Is there anyone with a alto works 550 setup (in mighty boy or alto) who could take a picture of the coil and the connections?
I need to understand whether I can use the original MB coil or I need to get the original coil from the alto.
My electrician is positive the coil needs to be the original alto works, John, in Adelaide is convinced any coil will work and the ignitor module is internal to the distributor.

In the meantime the car doesn't start........

How many wires come out of your distrbutor (besides the HT leads of course!)

The ignitor is just a transistor to switch the coil to ground you should be able to use an aftermarket one as long as it doesnt have its own dwell control.

Im pretty sure the ignitor sits under the coil on the alto works. if you wire the ignitor in any electronic coil should do(dont use one off a car with points)

i might have a spare alto works ignitor $50 if u need one

i have a complete cc72v f5a efi loom and ecu as well if u get stuck $150

and I may take on your offer for the $50. I just want to make sure the electrician once he gets the part can finish the job. To be honest I should have got the part from the guy I bought the engine as it is necessary for the engine to work......but.....

There are 3 wires coming out the distributor crank angle sensor.

Interesting. It might use a hall effect sensor, because my F6A dissy only has 2 wires for its reluctor setup. Either way it would need more than 3 wires to have a built-in ignitor.
