sold! for $1.35 + $10 postage (postage actually cost $12.60+paypal fee + ebay fees!). $1 auction, what was I thinking!

yeh i hate ebay. total rip. there fees were over 50% of what id sold one month

Try using Oztion.com.au - apparently their fees are much more reasonable, but the market is smaller.

Gumtree is another prominent classifieds system.

Not that I've looked, (well I have) but there's a lot of female couch surfers around that are willing to share a bed if there's no lounge.
