Need parts from Japan? Then have a read of this!

Firstly, I think a little intro is in order here. I'm Dave, aka "soldave", a Yorkshireman who's been living in Okinawa in southern Japan for the past 5 and a half years. For the past couple of years I've been into the performance car scene and was racing and tuning a 1992 Mitsubishi Evo. In the past couple of months I've had my hands full with a Suzuki Alto Works I've picked up.

But here on this forum I've been given some responsibility to find you folks some Suzuki bargains from here in Japan on both stock and aftermarket parts, and that's what I'll try to do. I've done this for early Evo owners over on evo123.net (see here: http://www.evo123.net/forumdisplay.php?f=24 )and as you can see with my forum there, I've got a good reputation from everyone who's bought parts from me. I7ve also now got a forum on clubcappo.co.uk, which people seem pretty pleased with so far. Can't guarantee I'll always be able to find the cheapest parts for you, but I'll check a number of suppliers here in Japan and see what I can do on your behalf. And if you find cheaper elsewhere, please post it up so that others can follow your lead and head there for bargains.

I should be able to do purchases for items on Yahoo Auctions Japan in the near future, although the system for that is a little different to registering for online auction companies in the West, so you'll have to bear with me a little.

Just a couple of guidelines I'll make (although these may change over time):

1. The prices I'll quote you will include postage by SAL which usually gets worldwide in around 10-14 days once the package arrives with me. If you want something quicker then I can ship by EMS which takes 3 days to most countries but is a little more expensive. If people want the quicker mailing option then state in your part request and I'll let you know it in my reply.
2. Payment is best for all parties if it's made by Paypal. That offers security and peace of mind for everyone. If you really can't do that and prefer a bank transfer then I can live with it, but it will just take a little longer for everything to go through.
3. Prices I quote WILL NOT include the Paypal 3% fee (a mistake I've made numerous times and not seemed to learn from in the past!). I would ask the buyer to pay the Paypal fee although there are ways of getting around that

Think that's about it for now. I can also make up an invoice if you need anything like that, or if you've any special requests let me know and I'll see what I can do. Feel free to contact me on MSN, Yahoo Messenger or Skype and ask me questions if you want a quicker response. As long as I'm around I'll answer you as quickly as I can!

Very happy to help out. The only restrictions I have are with physical dimensions of goods:

Length + (width + height)x2 = 3m

I know import companies kill people for prices and so if I can save you folks some money out there I will. So let me know what you want!

That's a great offer there Dave!

I'll have to have a think about what i would like, which are mostly small bits & see if i can then afford to ask you if you can get them & ship them for me. :D

Cheers

No problem at all. If it's stock parts you want, try to give me your chassis number so I can be sure of the correct part number.

If there are any aftermarket parts you want then let me know so I can post them up here :)

Thanks man. I know how much of a pita suzuki is about needing the chassis number. Somewhere i've written down the chassis numbers from all the micro suzuki's i've taken parts from, so i can get spares!

Cheers

Yeah, it's basically as there are so many little differences in specific models, despite them having the same model number. I asked them if they could get hold of parts manuals on a CD for me but to no avail yet. Am sure if I keep going in asking to look through their parts manuals they'll get annoyed enough to sort something out for me!

Suzuki didn't use the F8B in Japan, so you'd be lucky to find one there!

If you can get any sort of Suzuki parts catalogue I would be very interested, and it would help me supply parts. Only one I have at the moment is a PDF of the Cappuccino one.

I have the catalogue, so let me know what parts you need numbers for. ;) Obviously having a VIN/chassis number makes things much easier.

What are the dimensions of the windscreen? Might not be the easiest thing in the world to ship.
