Long story short. Cervo had been on the road now for 2 years everyday driving, always starts first kick of the key no matter how hot or how cold it is, always has been reliable!

Any who, I parked it after coming home from work in the garage, woke up Saturday, started first kick drove down the street to a mate and came back and all was good. When to take it to work on Monday morning and motor turned over like normal and nothing...... just would fire up and run.

I changed the spark plugs and still no joy. It sounds like it wants to, almost like when a carby car is flooded but nothing. I have check for spark and there is spark but I think it looks weak, more of a orangey spark than a thick blue one.

What are peoples thoughts it could be?

Difficult to diagnose, but I would say CAS, ignitor or coil has failed. Could also be something simple like a bum earth to the injectors. Does it get fuelly after you crank it for a while?

Yes it does get fuelly, the spark plugs are wet if I pull one out. "start ya Bastard" makes no difference at all. The sound sorta reminds me of when I had the firing order wrong, almost like it is firing on one cylinder. occasional backfire through the exhaust and throttle body. :NFI:

I'd hate to think the tensioner let go or the timing belt has stripped/jumped, but it is a possibility.

Tried adjusting it, it is already all the way at one end (has been like that for 2 years) just weird that it always has been working fine then just stopped. The is a little oil inside the distributor but just at the bottom and not splashed around.

If it had jumped a tooth or a couple it would have ran crappy. Still could be a possibility. I'll have to check it all out when im a little calmer.

first step beg/borrow/steal a coil and try that. they have a habit of dying like that.

Did spraying a bit of aerostart down the throat make it fire, or still nothin?

had another quick play with it took the coil off and cleaned the terminal there the lead plugs was a fair bit of rust stuff, check the voltage (12.3 volts at the coil) broke the relatively new spark plug lead taking it off and replaced it with the old warn through one and she starts!!! :woot:
