2nd question: do the f10a and f8a have the same bottom end?

any ideas or suggestions would be appriciated!

Answer 1: Yes they should be interchangeable.
Answer 2: No, they're different - hense the 200cc of size difference. ;)

Why not just rebuild the F10A?

Brayden, isn't the F10a 4cyls as used in the Sierra? G10a is 3 cyls.

yeah the f10a is used is sierras but it has a different oil pickup and sump cause the engine sits more upright. think there has been issues with overheating when using them.

i would rebuild but i got quoted 2000 and only 1000 for the swap.

turbo the f8a yay or ney, how much hassles will i be gettin?

If you're reluctant to pay $2000 for a full rebuild then don't even consider turbocharging the F8A!

Not the first time I've heard of the bottom failing after just the top was done.

his brother ran it with no oil though thats why the bottom went. same as what i did with my f10a.

if you can find an old sierra one will most of the parts that are different like pickup sump etc are interchangable so you should be sweet.

my troubles are just because i got a dodgy one and other shit like my fuel pump etc decided to die at the same time.

my sierra one uses the pickup and sump out of the old carry one i replaced it with so everything should be sweet if you do that? just make sure you see it running or something?
