Can somebody give me a good indication of the weight and dimensions of a F8b Engine and gearbox, with carby and everything still on it. I would like to know both the engine and gearbox together and seperatly if anyone has the info???

Thanks Guys

Gearbox ~20kg
Engine ~40kg (long motor only)

Size of whole thing with accessories is about 1000w x 600h x 400d. It would need to be palleted to ship. If sent seperately the engine would need a pallete, but the gearbox can be put in a cardboard box.

what makes a long motor a long motor... how do you tell what type it is?

"long motor" means engine complete from sump to rocker cover, but without accessories such as manifolds, carby, alternator, etc. "short motor" is essentiall a complete bottom end but no head or accessories. ;)

okay cool thanks for that, an idea how much extra weight you would account for with both manifolds, carby, dizzy, and alternator

So it would be about 75kg with mounts, cradle, engine, gearbox, manifolds, carb, starter, dizzy and fuel pump?

Feels heavier than 75kg, and very awkard. I now get my dad to help lift it out, defs need a engine lift.
