Hi everyone,

My name is Angas and this is my first mightyboy. I bought it just after christmas last year and have slowly been working on it. I thought I would start keeping a log of my progess.
This is my first car project and I've already learnt heaps about how cars work. I'm working on it with the help of my dad and a few friends. The aim is to do as much of it myself as possible, but still end up with a decent car.

First pics:

What I've done so far:
- Replaced both external door handle which were broken
- Removed the roof bars - I never really liked the look of them
- Removed and sold the tonneau cover. Still have to weld up all the holes for that
- Recovered one of the rusted headlight frames. In the process of fixing a second one
Image

- Stripped the front end for rust removal, panel beating and repainting. I'm slowly working on each piece
Image

- Repaired the grill with fibreglass. I'm quite proud of how it looks :D
- Repainted the windscreen wiper arms and new blades
- Bought a centre console from a Ford laser. It will still have to be modified slightly to allow me to use the clutch properly.
- New pedals
Image

- New battery
- I've bought some commodore clear side indicators which will go on when the guards are repainted.

Short term goals:
- Fix up all rust + weld holes, prime and respray
Rusty areas
Image
Image

- A mechanic friend of mine is going to help get the engine running properly. (getting the timing right, working on the carby etc)
- Clean up the wheels. Fresh paint for the inside, sanded smooth, clear coated
Image

- GET IT REGISTERED!!

Longer term goals:
- Retrim interior (door panels, roof lining, seats, carpet)
- would like to get it lowered
- window tinting
- Fibreglass Hardtop
- New steering wheel
- Sound system - nothing too crazy lol
- fix the heater/air fan thingy
I'm sure more things will come up

I have to research more about what I can do to the engine while I'm still on my P plates.

Hopefully I'll be able to add to this fairly regularly as I get more work done :D

Thanks Billie

I'm still looking forward to seeing the tonneau on your MB lol :P

It might not be so bad for the F8b, but I was hoping for a G10a
plus, I'd rather have it all legal  don't want any trouble

I acturally got it on the other week. But im driving with it down coz my gf likes to sit in the back when we go to the beach, so cant be bothered unhooking it everytime. It's nearly finished been re-stitched. Getting there slowly. F8b with 30dic carb haha, that would go well til off ya p's, thats what i'll do soon, allready want more power hehe.

I cant get my accelerator pedal on, the sports cover thingy :(

Yours look gud :)

awesome

I'm actually considering finding an F8b if a G10a is completely out of the question. I'll look into it.

My accelerater pedal is held on with two big zip-ties lol... its just the pedal on the front, a metal bracket that the pedal screws into and then the two zip-ties going between the bracket/new pedal and around the actual old pedal. if that makes sense lol. mine are just a kit from SuperCheap

My clear commodore side indicators arrived today :D

Image

Can't wait to get them on when the guards are finished.

I've also made a bit of progress lately sanding and priming the parts from the front of the car.
