Your Hatch has an F5A?
When i had the original air filter thingy on i had a piece of pipe going from the summer and winter pipes on the end to just behine the grill. Didn't look very special but did the job. Now i just have an open air filter thing. Unless you wanted like shiny pipe going from the carby to a pod filter somewhere?

the 3 inch pipe from repco, right size for the pod filter.
The part i put on the carb was a circle metal plate with a metal arm going over the top with a hole for the stem of the carb to go through to secure it, then slide the pipe over and chuck the pod on.
Whats your email? or look me up on facebook, pics are on there.

just putting an open filter on top is probably the worst thing you can do, all it will be doing is sucking in all the hot air rising from the engine.
you could always copy what i made. you wont get better a flowing/least restrictive setup than this;

is it a 3in SS pipe or what?
and what brand is the pod filter?
K&N or DRIFT?
does a normal size cannon fit a suzuki hatch when i get the exhuast done, he told me to buy the tip and he would charge $180 for the exhaust?

Not sure what size the f5a exhaust is but f8b is 1.75, i think the f5a is 1.5?
You would need a reducer to put a cannon on, unless they come in 1.5/1.75.
I had a saas pod, cheap and good. 3inch each way flexi pipe.
Psi wagon, mine was further forward to the front then your air filter.
I wouldnt say yours is the best way for the set up, but if thats what you like.
Pods give a great sound hehe
