Hi

Anyone changed their steering wheel on their carry? More specifically an sk410v 86. Do you know whether it is just a standard suzuki bosskit?

It would be for mounting a woodgrain nardi

Cheers

Boss kit is the same as for a MightyBoy - SAAS BK134L or Autotechnica 323. (The SAAS is better quality.)

Sweet thanks, i just measured it before i saw your reply, 30 teeth and about 14/15mm id, which matche sup perfectly to the one i was looking at buying

In terms of quality, how much of a difference would it make having a crap one(eg the above) vs having a decent one like you suggested? Do they tend to break ect?

Will have a look at the ones you suggested now

Edit: I cant seem to find either of the ones you suggested? Where would i get them?

The kit you linked to is for a Swift, and won't fit an 86 Carry unless you have a unique steering column.

There are sellers on ebay offering SAAS boss kits, you just tell them the model number you need. The quality issue I raised is related to fitment rather than breakage - the Autotechnica version doesn't seem to fit the spline as neatly as the SAAS one.

You sure it isnt the same? I counted 30 teeth/splines and about 14.5mm diameter, which matches with the description, although you would know better than me

Ill go have another look/count and see if i mismeasured or anything

EDIT: ok it definately has 30 teeth/splined and the diameter is ~14.5mm

Pictures of said shaft and wheel, sorry they are so dirty, will clean them up a bit later

Assuming the splines are the same (which would news to me!) the other difference is the positioning of the steel pins that cancel the indicators. If they're in the wrong spot then you'll do damage to the combination switch.

Sweet, do you reckon that possibly it has the same amount of splines ect but the swift splines are a different shape maybe?

Yup i would need to check that too, especially before i installed it, although im sure i could cut them off if they were wrong, and either put them in the right position or just get rid of them completely and turn the indicators off manually, not sure, worst case, its $20 + $10 shipping, NZD, which is pretty much $20usd or so, so thats the biggest loss i can make if it doesnt work out

I asked the guy a question on that auction anyway asking for him to measure the distance between the 2 pins

EDIT: He replied, it all seems to line up ect, ill probably hit buy now on that and let you know how it fits ect, i found an saas one on ebay but its from aus, ans is 80aud and wont ship to nz, so if this one fits it will be awesome

New ones do, old ones don't.
