was wondering if it is possible to supercharge the 550cc motor at all,
if so what price range would i expect noting that my dad is a mechanic and can do the installation etc.
and where would i find the available bits.

SUPERCHARGING QUESTION
Price range will depend on a few things. John is selling a charger & flange kit that is a good start. Then you will need a few things, such as a crank pulley, a belt & a tensioner setup that will have to be custom fabricated. Then you need to work out if your going to do a draw thru or blow thru setup.
Blow thru will cost more, but could yield a better setup in the end. Altho Ben's draw thru setup goes pretty damn well!
If you want to stay with a carby & go blow thru, you need to get something capable of it, like the charade turbo carby & the carby hat. If you go that way, it would be worth fitting an intercooler as well.
