hey every one...
so on my carry van ive got 165 60 14 tyres and rims allround.
im thinking about chucking some 175 70 14 tyres on the back wheels as i have 2 of these tyres laying around.
and im thinking as the rolling diameter will be alot more with these tyres they will keep the rpm's down a little bit more.... so will they fit has any one had anything around this size tyrer on the back of there carry van.
cheers
175/70/14... ?
They'll fit, but will knock the guts out of the engine. I noticed a massive difference in acceleration just going from 12" to 13" with 175/65/13

yeh acceleration isnt a big factor for me i just wont more top end.Brayden wrote:They'll fit, but will knock the guts out of the engine. I noticed a massive difference in acceleration just going from 12" to 13" with 175/65/13
i just thought that with such short gearing in the carry big tyres on the back would even thing out a bit
some sierra f10a's run huge tyres and get away with it so it shouldnt put to much stress on the motor but they do have 4.11 diff gears where the carry has a 5.12 gearing
also when i changed from the stock 12'' to the 14'' 165/60 there was not much difference in acceleration at all if any...
cheers for the reply brayden

165/60r14 is near identical to the stock tyre circumference. probably why you didnt notice anything.
175/70r14 will definately reduce your freeway revs. (8.65%). provided the f10a can sustain this
i.e. when your speedo indicates 92 you are going 100km/hr
(8.65%). yeh thats what im arfter
do you guy's think this will put to much stain on the f10a
i think my f10a will have no trubles with 175 70 14 tyres
i will chuck em on and see how it goes

It won't put much strain on the motor, it won't pull very well.
F8B EFI turbo - Three pots and a snail.
so here is the difference between stock 155/80/12 and 165/60/14 not much at all
it wont pull very well
so will it struggle up hills and with a load and low in the revs with the 175 70 14?
but at say 90-100kph the rev's should still be around the peak torque
with big tyres shouldnt it..
