Hi have just got my hands on every van. Need some advice as rod bearing let go and worn out rod and crank. Can I use any f5a motor and swap it or machine the crank and rod. The van is factory turbo, injected and 4wd. Any help would be appreciated.

Depending on how bad the wear is you could machine it and fit oversize bearings. Personally I would stick an F8B bottom end in it (796cc) your head, sump, pickup should all bolt straight on. It would make it much more driveable, although you might need a piggyback ECU or slightly larger injectors to give it a bit more fuel.
