Could be any one of a few dozen problems.
First thing to check is if it has spark and fuel.

Has fuel spark , when u turn ignition on to run from off position it's dead but if you hold key in start position it's fine except for the starter motor running on

Sounds like a faulty coil or points.

Even the indicators and dash lights arnt working unless u hold the start position it's weird . I just disconnected the starter motor after we started it held the key on it drove fine then i let it go back run and it shut down

That narrows it down. The problem is that you've got no ignition power with the key in the ON position. Look for a faulty ignition barrel or blown fuse.

Clearly a wiring fault though. You'll just have to grab a copy of the wiring diagram from the 'workshop' section and trace the wires until you find the faulty one.

check and see if your fuseable link is fudged up starter runs off battery and barrel will only activate it start there see what happens.
