Some of you may remember I was looking for a Mighty Boy late last year for $1K or less to compete in the Sh*tbox Rally, well after 6 months of searching we found one with an F8 motor, perfect for our needs.

Well I'm pleased to report that we made the entire 3600km journey with nothing more than a broken exhaust (which was already broken before we left, and we'd bodged it up). When the time came to sell, I couldn't part with it, so it's coming back to Adelaide for a little longer.

Here are some pics:

Well done Lads...
I'd been following another team through the course of the event - I knew there was a MightyBoy tackling the route, but there was scant information about you guys as the event ran.
How much did you collect in the end, and are you going to go back for 2014?

We raised $5500 or thereabouts, which wasn't too bad seeing we've been doing it for a few years - always harder to hit people up for donations after the first run!

Next year is Perth to Darwin which is a long haul, the car has definitely got another rally left in her, but I might take a break for a year partly because of the time taken to raise the donations, and partly because if I want the car back at the end, I'd be spending $2500 on transport just to get it to and from the event.

Hi Kristian, you like the kei class cars for the Shitbox rally, last year a Move, and now a Mighty Boy! Was Aaron your co-pilot again? Awesome to see the MB was up to the challenge, well done with the fundraising.

Cheers JB yeah sticking to Kei class vehicles was always the plan :)

Aaron filled in for my brother-in-law last year, who was able to do it this year. We were joined by a Suzuki Carry and a Daihatsu Centro this year! We all made it.

Rally info is here: www.shitboxrally.com.au apply now for next year if you want any chance of getting in.

Hehe I did have plans to restore the MB but it looks like the plans may be on hold now that I've bought a block of flats with a Mira attached to the front...

There is an Alto version that I REALLY want to import, but the price tag with compliance is just shy of $10k. :-o
