Ok I sold the white boy about 3 months ago and bought my wife a SAAB.

I missed it so much that I decided to buy another one from the sunshine coast
It has a F6A turbo motor fully engineered but hadnt run for over 18 months.

Being such a 'Zombie' Fan (George A Romero rocks) I decided to start re-building this one into

THE ZOMBOY **Dramatic music plays**

So if there was a Zombie outbreak (and it could happen) this would be the 'Response Vehicle' of choice.

DIARY ENTRY #1 23-July-2013

With the impending zombie apocolypse slowly approaching I spent the last few days dissasembling and removing the frozen F6A from the 'Outbreak Response Vehicle'.

Turbo was also frozen but a little WD40 and some oil and it was soon spinning.

Unbolted the Injection system and removed heads as well. Noticed the Pistons were frozen tight as well soaked it in some ATF & Acetone overnight and with a few taps from a piece of lumber (I keep reserved for braining zombies) and that bad boy started to turn. Cylnders look not to bad but I will send the head off to Gilberts heads on the GC ($180 for rebuild).

Unbolted the motor from the 5 speed and on my own mangaged to man handle and remove the block as well.

The car now resembles that of deceased zombie with it brains gone

Damn zombies theyre everywhere, cant wait to get the 'Response Vehicle' back in action.

DIARY ENTRY #4 03-August-2013

Ok been looking at colour schemes and im definalty wanting to go a Zombie Green

Alot of searching and I think I really like the following colour

It has a ppg custom mixed lime green matallic basecoat topped with a yellow pearl candy pigment with a light dust of outrageous amber gold sparkle all mixed to ppg color blender.

Im not a fan of the artwork but the colour should repel any zombies.

DIARY ENTRY #7 14-August-2013

DONT LOSE YOUR HEAD

Just like a zombie I had to remove the head from the F6A
Did some water tests on it and both exhaust valves have a small leak

Dropped it into Gilberts heads and he is going to strip it down and rebuild the head for me.

Gilberts has been building heads for over 40 years and is the best and fairest in the business.

He ships Australia wide and guarantees his work.

Great Value and the best quality work from a man that has done nothing but heads for most of his life

Interestingly that head looks identical to an F5A/F8B head. It would be interesting to compare valve/port sizes - there might be a benefit in fitting an F8B head. ;)

The gaskets look different slightyly. Im guessing mabybe the water jackets are different.

Ill take two images of gasket and overlay them to compare this will tell us alot.

Brayden, in what way do you feel the f8b would be better?

keep in mind this is a EPI head.

I would expect that the F8B head would have larger ports and valves, which has the obvious potential for better flow. EPI doesn't matter on the SOHC because the injectors are mounted in the inlet manifold. I'm using F6A SOHC manifolds on my F8B. I also know that the F6A DOHC head bolts to the F8B block, so they are all interchangeable to some degree.
