Hey guys I have finally found a decent engine to slap into the old MB but it doesnt have the G/Box with it will my old bog standard one fit or will I need to sort out the new one?
Short answer is yes. But you are better off with a f8b box because it has a better final drive.

I know that a few people have put 4 speed boxes on F6A motors, and apparently it's a straight forward job. As niiko pointed out though, an F5A box would be impractical due to the very low final drive ratio.

Cheers guys I might have sorted it with a front cut anyway now which will make the install a bit easier I hope.
