have i got the front bumper from a different car?

so im trying to fit the bumper to my 83 hatch and it doesnt seem to fit
the brackets that hold the bumper, where they attach to the wheel arches, the bolt holes dont line up
the wheel arches have elongated holes for adjustment but on the bracket the holes are too far apart even for this
the brackets seem like normal mboy shape and slot straight in to the holes in the front where the brackets r sposed to
and also the bumper seems to stick heaps far out, the bumper was in the load area when i bought the car, will post pics in a minute
edit to add that theres a third elongated bolt hole but its being used by the motor controller bracket
bumper still doesnt look like a mboy one though
