Those of you that check out the Team Mighty Boy facebook page, may have seen a picture of my most ambitious MB project around October last year, just before it made the trip from Victoria to NSW to go on display at World Time Attack as a work-in-progress. I hope it will be interesting for those other Mighty Boy owners or MB enthusiasts out there. The link is;

Probably way too late,but "Shark fins"[approx 50mm high] along the rear top edge of the roof line will diect the air flow from the roof onto the rear wing in place of the roof spoiler.

As seen on Subarus & Evos.[&similar to BMW roof Antennas]

The shark fins on Evos etc are vortex generators, and on a sedan like that they will control the airflow separation point from the top of the rear window and bring it further down the window, reducing the wake size, and increasing the pressure on the rear surface, therefore decreasing drag. The Mighty Boys abrupt downturn from the rear roof edge, and shorter overall length, means that the flow separation off the roof has no chance of rejoining to rear bodywork, meaning the wake will be sizeable, and the car will be dragging a large amount of turbulent air. The rake of the rear bulkhead/window is too great for vortex generators to help (in my opinion) as the flow separation point will be too far up the roof for the VG to control. This also means, that unless the rear wing is mounted very high, it will be positioned in turbulent air, and will be highly compromised. I will be tuft testing my road MB to confirm these theories, but I am imagining a slightly downward sloping roof spoiler (possible with vortex generators) to control the separation point, bring the wake size down, and put the wing into clean air.

Wow, it's been 2 years since I posted this thread. The car's not done, but a lot of progress has been made.
The explain the project briefly, I'm turning my MB into a time attack style track car based cosmetically on the now retired Voltex Cyber Evo, with a self imposed 'kei car' regulation 660cc engine.
I'm using an F6A, mated to an Alto Works 4WD gearbox, and an independent rear end based on a Cappuccino, and utilising the Cap diff, axles and uprights. The car is fully caged, and will have (has) an extensive amount of carbon fibre paneling.
Here are some shots of the work I've done so far.

Hey g man, in a nutshell, it's AWD. I'm using the front end of an Alto Works; F6A, 5 speed 4WD gearbox, front uprights and axles. The rear end is Cappuccino; Diff, uprights and axles. All the suspension arms are custom fabricated, and I'm replacing the brakes front and rear.

Great build! Do you keep the engine standard? The power to weight ratio is gonna be so good with all the carbonfibre panels. Any idea how mutch weight you took of already?

G Man - looking for the right car/time to re-join the fold already :-)

Hi Jellety, I've kept every piece of steel I've cut off the chassis, so when I've finished I can weigh it. The carbon panels are very light, but there is a decent amount of cage which puts the weight back up. If the car came in around 550kg I'll be very happy. Engine wise, I'm aiming for 180hp. E85 fuel, custom inlet and exhaust manifolds, forged pistons, aftermarket ECU, lots of boost. F6A's are good to about 200hp, but I don't plan on pushing it quite to the max.
Thanks for the kind words Jeo, and thanks for following the build.

Thats gonna be interesting, keep us updated for the weight! I cant believe you can get 200 hp out of a 660cc 3 potter! I saw capuchinno's with it. Thats insane! Must be so mutch fun to drive though! What turbo are you gonna use? For 180 HP you need quite a big turbo for sutch a small engine, so that thing is gonna spool very late!   and what are you gonna do for the gearbox? You will probably rip that thing to parts with all that extra power.
