Hi guys just wondering if anyone has fitted a bigger fuel tank in their hatch,
I want to do this but not sure where to start,
I would love to double the size but not sure if a 50 ltr tank can fit.

Easiest way to double the tank size would be to remove the spare wheel and replace it with a second (auxiliary) tank or fuel cell.

I don't think there's any other option that would be cost effective, besides carrying a 20L jerry can in the back.

The factory tank is shaped to take up all of the available space between the rear axle and cabin floorpan. The only way to go bigger in the same space is to have a deeper (taller) tank, and that would impede ground clearance. To double the size that way the tank would basically be dragging on the ground.

Cool thanks for that mate, appreciate the info.
I will look in to a second tank I think as I want to drive it to Adelaide

You should get around 400kms to a standard tank. Surely that's enough range to get you to the next petrol station. :NFI:

Yeah I get about that,
Do you know if there is anywhere I can buy a new fuel tank (same size)

To replace the factory tank, or to install in addition?

Replace the factory tank

Your only two options for a new tank are to source one through Suzuki, or have one fabricated.

I wouldn't imagine suzuki would still have them and would think it would be quite expensive to have one fabricated

You'd be surprised at what parts Suzuki can still source from Japan, and probably equally surprised at how expensive those parts are. But yes, either genuine Suzuki or a custom fabricated tank is going to cost you a bomb - problem is that there is no alternative if you want a brand new tank.

Thanks for the info, really appreciate it.
My mechanic is going to ( begrudgingly) drop my tank out
and clean it out.

The tank is held in by three bolts, it is a very quick job to remove it.
