Hi everyone,
I'm looking for some help identifying my engine (sounds silly I know).
I bought my 87 Mighty Boy some years ago, quite a while after it had some major work done including an engine replacement (in 2006 as far as I know).
Now the engine mounts need replacing, and I am struggling to find fitting parts, as I don't know what engine is in there.

I've checked out the common engine conversions listed in this forum, but based on a google image search I am not closer to finding mine.

It's a 3 cylinder and the previous owner claimed that it has 1400cc (which sounds excessive).
I've found the engine number, but that didn't help me much so far. Its just a series of 7 numbers, without typical letter codes.

I would appreciate any help. Maybe someone can recognise the engine visually, or even the car.
Otherwise I am open to any other hints how I could go about my search.

Thanks in advance!

Bert

Neat conversion and car!
The distinctive inlet manifold gives it away, it's a Daihatsu EJ-DE
wikipedia says 989cc, 41kw.

Ahh, fantastic!
Thanks very much for your help, gremlin!
Amazing how I was stuck on this quest, but just needed to find the right person. Thanks again.

Right away I found one engine mount that should fit, the others look custom.
But I'm on the right track.
Cheers,

Bert
