There is a pink MB in the TAMON gallery with 16" rims but it hasn't ever been on the road. I doubt it would even steer with rims that big.

Put it this way, you'd need to find a set of 17x6" rims and 195/30/R17 tyres for them to fit and be driveable. Even then it would take a fair bit of trimming and massaging of the guards.

i put my 14" rims on mine and had to buy special low profiles tyres to make it fit. People point and laugh alot, i dont know if its a good thing or a bad thing ;/...screw them, my mighty boy kicks ass

14" rims will fit with 175/50/R14 tyres - assuming that the offset is correct.

I did a test fit and it looks very, very close. So i'm wondering about a set of spacers.

The studs on the MB are short enough without trying to use spacers. I trialled a set just to work out the offset for a new set of rims and found that I could only get the wheel nuts to thread about halfway onto the stud. Big no-no.
If you want to fill out the rears then get a different set of offset rims for the back like I'm doing.

The offset will depend on the width of the rim. 14x5.5" would need 42+ or so. 175/50/R14 tyres.

to my understanding the offset is measured from the centreline of the rim, so it would effectively stay in the same place no matter what width rim.
the only way rim width would come into play is if the MB std. wheel is not in the centre of the wheel arch/tub (equal clearance left and right of the tyre to the arches) thus wider rims will need less offset (34) to stick further "out" and not rub on the inner wheel arch/tub.
is this right or am i not seeing something?
