Are you sure the ring can't be removed? It can on the rectangular lights. (MB/Hatch/Alto) Your other option is to swap your lights for rectangular ones and get a grille to suit. the suzuki hatch is not the same as the square ones. the metal ring is attached to the headlight. and is a quick and easy...

they are the 7inch round one's
there not a normal replacment parts as picture in many advertisments,
there is a metal ring on the outside, atached to the headlight...
