if you think it might be a head gasket - take it down to your mechanic and say youll give him 10 bucks to shove his gas meter in the top of the radiator (im not sure its called a gas meter but anyways:P) if it changes colour then the bubbles have hydrocarbons in em = blown head gasket get a compress...

really simple - disconnect the heater hoses (inside the engine bay) and then hook up a garden hose to one end with a clamp ... turn on your tap and watch all of the junk just float away

coinslot - instead of sanding everything down - goto kmart or whatnot and get yourself the biggest bucket of bog you can find - bog up the dash and then hit it with the bog file - always comes out perfectly smooth
