Anyone like Rover's or MG's? Pics of Longbridge factory

In case you didn't know, Rover/MG closed down a few years ago. Now some wacko pom's are "exploring" the factory - Including the "hidden" WW2 underground factory (there's a few different threads on this site about it, do a search). The place in some parts is just waiting for someo...

Oh and BTW, targa has pretty stringent entry requirements - you cant take any old car...
Part of the "entry requirement" is an invitation from the organisers...
At least that's what I was told by my mechanic, who's done the last 3 Targa's in a Lancia Delta HF Integrale...

Should be OK - Engineer I've been talking to has been keeping a close eye on what i'm up to - His concerns are mainly around the engine mounts & emmissions equipment.

They use the standard MB balljoint - fits up inside the hub as per the MB hubs, except the MB has the thread to accept a short retaining bolt, wheras the GA uses a seperate nut & bold as a retainer.

Don't know about wheel bearings.

Interesting side note with the GA hubs, They fitted nicely with no modifications, bar for changing the ball joint retaining bolt for a longer bolt, nut & washers, and the fact that i'm going to need to shorten the rack ends by about 25mm. No tie rod flips, no drilling, welding or any other arsin...

:x Alright Brayden, you know you made a liar out of me  I've been a bit too busy to get totally stuck into it, but I have been doing dribs & drabs to get it happening. I started off with the grand intentions of fitting up Mk1 GTi struts, hubs & brakes. It didn't take me too long to rea...

175/50 would be perfect Too wide. You have to take the weight of the MB into consideration - Wider tyres make the car prone to aquaplane in the wet fron the lack of weight spread over the width of the contact patch, plus cornering is actually worse than 155's as the 175's have flex in the the sidew...

but the G10A could be slightly heavier due to its cast iron block.
Unless you got the later alloy G10 - They came out in the MK2 & on here, don't know about overseas though...

It wasn't the little red 'un that was parked in Belmont shopping center near the bank on Saturday, was it?

If so, I nearly walked off with it

They slide into the rear arches nicely, the current 175/65 tyres just clear the bump stops, but 155/55's will take good care of that. As will grinding the stops. The fronts i'm not quite sure on yet as i've still got to get my Swift hubs on

Probably the same amount of people who run a turbocharged, EFI, F8B. What someone has under the bonnet doesn't have any relationship to their mechanical knowledge, or the contacts they have. I'm always surprised at the knowledge and resourcefulness of forum members. Funny that. I'm all out o...

You could just come clean about the project though, and probably get some more substantial advice. Poking out tongue
I doubt it. How many people here run supercharged Mk2 G10a's with EFI?

close, I was hoping to be able to see the full shape of the gearbox side on the auto 'box frame though. Basicly so I can see whether there's more space between the rails or not.
