Re: Throttle body injection

Both of you stop bragging and send me a manifold :p

Interesting link before, but it was a thread that mentioned replacing the guts of the distributor (so it has no timing parts at all, just a sensor and a rotor button).

Re: Throttle body injection

This isn't a huge difference to running a carby turbo setup, just more accurate fuelling. Especially if I do this: http://www.autospeed.com/cms/A_111154/article.html This guys quoted me $300-400 depending on what needs to be done http://www.truelocal.com.au/business/specialised-power-porting/mount-h...

Re: Throttle body injection

Ah k. I was considering having an F8B manifold milled and ported for higher flow and to take a larger TBI setup. Mind you I can always make a simple adaptor to take a smaller TBI setup for the F5A and change it for the larger setup at my leisure after the F8B is done. Seeing as TBI setups have the i...

Throttle body injection

I've now decided to keep my 'boy, despite the $1150 quote to repair the rust (don't blame me... and tbh I'll probably do most of it myself), so I'm looking at playing with it. Naturally I have a few questions. 1. Does an EFI conversion need an engineer certificate in queensland? 2. Has anyone conver...

Re: Those annoying little clips...

Found them in a local rubber supply shop. 19c each for the door seal clips (Door seal clip - Japanese), $3.50 ( :o ) for the metal window seal ones.

Now to locate me some bailey channel for the window slides...

Re: Those annoying little clips...

If I had the underdash stuff my car would have had a/c by now... *edit: I just re-read my original post. Only the holes are in the firewall, not the pipes that should be running through them. Kind of like every '94+ falcon having a 10" speaker hole in the rear parcel shelf but it not being fill...

Those annoying little clips...

Does anyone know where I can get those clips that hold the door seals on? And the ones for the window seal (bottom of window opening on outside of car). I don't currently have either door seal fitted, or the passenger side window seal, and the drivers window seal is only held on with three clips and...

Unfortunately I have to agree with you on the looks. But you have to agree with me, it was brutally quick and got a LOT of attention. There was nothing dodgy about the car apart from the concept...

Re: Tune-up and basic mods

Kinda agree with you there. Ultimate straight line accelleration wasn't ANYWHERE in the Mighty Boy Designer's Handbook. Except the copy someone gave to my TAFE teacher. He was the guy who built the EJ20 and Rover V8 mid engine rear drive mighty boys. Fun days that was, bloody deathtrap was 3rd outri...

Re: F8B EFI/turbo conversion - cost summary

One of the Skylines Australia guru members modified his bitsa turbo (VG30 rear housing, god knows what compressor) for his twin cam RB30 because backpressure was too high for top end grunt, with a side effect of it boosting later. He mounted his exhaust housing in a lathe so he could bore out the tu...

Re: Tune-up and basic mods

Well if getting better than a 19 is going to be harder than that n/a I won't bother with mild mods. What did you get down the quarter with your boosted F8 (both when it was carby and when efi)? If it can churn out a high 15/low 16 I'm keen to boost an F8. Now to read up on blow-through carby turbo s...

Unrelated to solving your issue, but I'm happy to take your possibly faulty haltech off your hands. Even if it's completely fried it still makes a cool coffee table ornament for me.

Re: Tune-up and basic mods

Hmmm... It's worth trying to set some kind of end goal here before I start... Just how fast can a lightly tweaked F8B powered mighty boy get down the quarter? I imagine that with higher compression, a port job, extractors, and a decent carby it would be putting out a bit more than 30kw. What times h...
