Dude....I have no idea whether it's working or not......you asked how to tell if it's working or not.....and I told you how to check it. Something I DID leave out was......when you disconnect the short hose from the diaphram to the carby, you will either need to put a screw in the end of that tube t...

Honda Dude......1st and most common problem is Diaphram leaking.....to check this, you will still need a piece of vac hose.....there is a short hose running from the right side of the daiaphram back to front of carby.....disconnect this at the diaphram end and connect hose long enough to reach your ...

Simple Street Performance Mod for F5a / F8b

Guys......what I have done as far as remapping the vacuum supply to the secondary diaphram is a simple, cheap and very effective performance mod that will give you heaps of get up and go for suburban driving. Here is a link to my Gallery http://www.tamon.org/gallery/v/members/AltoBoy/?g2_GALLERYSID=...

Yeah mowog.....you're right, I tried with vice grips but just not enough thread to grip. Any way got hold of a mob called Thread-Tech who came out and got it out for $60 but the plot thickens.......reassembling the housing and start doing up the bolts and the bloody housing fractured and snapped in ...

Mobile thread repairs

Calling all Mobile thread repairers in the Brisbane area...... Whilst doing some repairs prior to my Xmas holiday break, I have snapped off a bolt in the back of the motor holding the heater hose housing on. There's about 2mm of the bolt still sticking out of the block.....anyone know of any mobile ...

Here's the latest in my quest for f5a perfection........played around a bit more with various lengths of tubing and now have superb performance through all gears in the suburbs.....but take it on the highway and it won't rev past 5,700 or 114kph. In suburban driving she will rev past 6,000 in 1st, 2...

I forgot to mention 1 little thing, you need to block off the original nozzle at the front of the carby that the vacuum hose use to connect to the diaphram. To do this you need to go to a repco or maybe Super Cheap and ask for a 1/8th blocking cap.....this is a small rubber cap that seals the hole i...

Then you just press the throttle gently until the secondary start to open then flatten it. If the secondary is coming on too hard too fast and you've remapped the tubing the way I have done, then just lengthen the the tube from the spliiter to the diaphram by 1cm to 2 cm until you get the right leng...

Ceej......do the cleaning routine I mentioned and just keep putting your foot flat to the floor then back off for a couple of minutes ( this is whilst driving of course ) then flatten it again. You may get a flat spot, but with persistence it will eventually clean itself up.....if not, the extra pow...

Ceej.....take off your air cleaner and buy a can of Carby throttle body cleaner from Super Cheap or Big W......with engine at normal opperating temp use your left hand to pull on the throttle manually, at high revs spray cleaner down into both front " Secondary stage " and rear chambers......

Brayden, at the back of the carby to the left of Idle speed Knob ( if you were working from the fire wall )...I believe it is called Ithe dle mixture screw, but my next door neighbour reckoned it was A/F screw. Either way it is idling perfectly, where as before it had a random popping sound at idle....

OK guys, here's the latest news, after remapping the vacuum lines as per my last post, this little car was still not running at peak performance, so I made some more changes. Frustrated at what had happened to the power out put, I went out to the car this morning and looked closely at all vacuum hos...

Brayden, this car has had an 1 3/4 system on it for 2 years, the only change we made was to remove a resonator with baffles and replace it with a cannon.....now I've added the short hotdog with a restrictor. So no other major changes have happened......so is it o.k. to leave it the way we've rearran...
