Hi, Firstly nice to see another carry van owner looking to do some engine work! Now, I assume you’re talking about Kruizin’s project: http://redlinegti.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=22400&start=0&hilit=g16B+carry I think between him and me were the only people to put bigger G series moto...
Yep, well that'll defiantly do the job (the universal kit). Just on a side note its not the most pretty kit out there... The finish of the casting is a little rough and the metal finish is raw, but you could clean it up and paint it no problems.
It’s a "Perma-cool" item that I bought for a FJ20 (nissan motor) via "Rocket Industries". It came supplied with brass fittings and some hose, which i have changed to the speed flow items. Ummm… Not sure on the price as it was originally bought for another of my projects about 2 y...
Thanks, Doing quite a bit of work on it atm... http://www.tamon.org/gallery/d/11794-1/P220909_21_23_01_.JPG Thats the remote oil filter kit with the gauge adapter plate fitted which allows me to run an oil press and temp sensor. Its a standard nissan thread so im planning on running a Z9 filter, muc...
Car fixing monies FTW! Put in my tax today, so not long now! :D Yeh, don't mind wiring really (that will come back to bite me!)... Still, heres some more low res phone pics! http://www.tamon.org/gallery/d/11692-1/P080909_15_23.JPG Thats the relay and fuse block for the EFI components. Its all wired ...
Finished my relay and fuse block setup for the van today, as well as integrating the necessary bits to (hopefully) make the motor function as per factory. Time will tell! Still no tax money, so no laser cutting. Work goes on though as I'm going to start making the aluminum covers for the fuel pumps ...
Back again with some more carry van goodness! Current state of things: Motor is back out while all the remaining fab happens in the van. http://www.tamon.org/gallery/d/11602-1/P150809_14_00.JPG http://www.tamon.org/gallery/d/11604-1/P150809_14_00_02_.JPG All the little stuff is getting taken care of...
I would just like to say I immensely enjoyed reading about this build.
That’s a fantastic little site you’ve put together there. I’ve been curious about EV conversions and this is a very well presented project.
http://www.tamon.org/gallery/d/11066-1/P280309_14_04.JPG Test fit of the dash... Not bad considering it came out of a different car! More or less for the integrated tacho, while keeping a stockish appearance... Not 100% sure on the Speedo though... possibly a picaxe microcontroller that will output...
Yep, got a bit done... Never quite as much as I hoped for... Nevermind! http://www.tamon.org/gallery/d/11051-1/P150409_15_50_01_.JPG Few things to note here: ~Water air seperator to keep bubbles from forming in the head. ~Low pressure fuel pump is now mounted under the van. ~Under the drivers seat y...

The F10A that I took out of my van was also an interference engine (no belt = bent valves). I replaced the head (that was cracked) with an F8A item.
Other then needing the F8A timing cover I had no problems.
