I put the Ryco Z443 filter on - it fits perfectly - anything wider and youll need to remove the alternator to get it out. My service is complete - I wasnt able to get a standard filter at autobarn today so ill keep looking or maybe put a pod on - sounds like a bit too much hassle though. I was fiddl...

WTB: Foglight glass cover for Alto Works

WTB: Foglight glass cover for Alto Works

I just need one lens to fit the standard 88 Alto Works RSX foglights.

The brand on my current ones is 'Stanley', but anything that fits will do.

Or does anyone know where I can get one of these?

how do you wash these? do you oil them like the K&N or do you just hose them off?

With all the mucking around getting it to fit, was it worth it?

If its not inside a cold air box, wouldnt it be sucking in hot engine bay air?

I would recommend Penrite HPR10 or HPR15 with a Valvoline V015 or Ryco Z125 filter. Turns out the Z125 is way too wide! It probably fits only just, but would mean youd have to remove the alternator to be able to take the filter off next time. The filter I removed was a Ryco Z443, so Ill see if auto...

I thought about going via the top but there seems a crazy amount of stuff to remove, and even if I did remove all that it would be pretty tight. I ended up removing the front bar which wasnt too difficult in the end. There is an oil line in the way though that needs to be removed, so Im just wonderi...

I just got it off. It went something like this: 1. remove 2 lower bolts from inside the wheel arch (you'll need a spanner as the bolts are too long meaning a socket wont fit over). 2. remove grill. One or 2 screws, pretty simple. 3. remove headlights (may need to remove the rubber bits below them to...

Removing Alto Works front bumper

Anyone here done this?

Is it as simple as removing a few bolts and pulling it off?

Is there a reinforcement bar that should come off, or do I just pull the bumper off any reinforcement bars?

there really is no space in between the crossmember and the sump. Perhaps its a bit different on a Mightyboy Brayden? I think ill just remove the front bumper, it seems the only way. Ill start another thread on this. I hate being new to a type of car and knowing nothing about them! I knew my lancer ...

Alto Jacking Points

Just wondering where the best jacking points are on an 88 Alto Works RSX? Should I just jack it up using the side points behind the front wheels, and then place my jackstand alongside the jack, and then release the jack slowly? Are there any points in front of the wheels (ie around or under the engi...

I actually tried that already, the hole is about 3x5 cm so theres no way i can reach in there.

I guess I could cut the bumper but not too keen on that.

next question...

How do I access the oil filter in order to replace it? (ie do I need to remove anything to be able to get access to the filter?) It almost looks as though I need to remove the front bumper.

I would recommend Penrite HPR10 or HPR15 with a Valvoline V015 or Ryco Z125 filter. thanks alot for that Brayden. Other than the price, whats the difference between the two? My Alto has either 120,000kms or 220,000kms on it and suffers a little but of lifter/tappet noise. Oh and how much oil does t...

I have a MB running the alto rsx gear in it, (F5A Turbo). I found out when i was doing my first service that most parts like oil filter, leads and spark plugs were the same as the standard Australian F5A which came out in the MB or Hatch. I went to Auto One to get my parts for the first service, an...

yep, cheers. The lever does work, it just needed a bit of elbow grease to move it for the first time in years.

My foglights done work at all. I might have to check the fuses and globes.
