You don't need all that gear in an MB. If you REALLY like bass then 2 sets of 12" or 15" subs behind the seats and a set of 6" splits in the front is ample.

6x9's and 7x10's are rubbish for soundoffs - and sound quality in general!

One set is plenty. I recommend Boston S60 if on a budget. Add to that an Image Dynamics ID12 and an Audison SRx3 to run it all. Killer budget setup right there. This is assuming you already have a headunit. If not, then JVC has good quality lower-end stuff.

I have no idea what my stereo sounds like  The stuff I said above will go loud enough and stay clean enough for the average punter.

For loud subbass, one 12" running of a beefy monobloc amplifier would be very very loud in the tiny cabin of the MB.

If your on a budget I'd reccommend you getting a 4ch amp (such as the Alpine MRV-345) in which you can power your fronts of ch1+2 and bridge ch3+4 in order to run the sub.

I second CoinSlot on the Boston S60's but also check out the DLS range of speakers.

i run a mix match system, its cheap and it goes hard.

crappy panisonic head unit ($100) that scratches every CD i put in it (soon to be replaced by a pioneer ($50 Mates Rates).
with that i have 2 Xplod 6X9's($70) and 2 10" rampage subs($100 MR) running through a 300W pioneer amp($130). i have no brand loyalty

its enough to make the tailgate rattle and make my interior mirror keep moving

i also own a 400W 12" Blaupunkt sub that is for sale. 2 weeks old, was installed for 4 days then replaced with the 10s. $100
Cheers,
