idle probs...

hi all,
have a problem with my boy idling, when i start it
up it wont at all (or when its cold) have to hold me foot on the throttle
till i get moving and still everytime i change down a gear
the motor stalls but once it warms
up its fine , somtimes revving too hard. ive replaced points,plugs and leads, is running better but dident fix it.just got a carby kit but wondering if anyone has any idea's before i pull it apart...?

idle soleniod (round bit with wire coming out of it on carb) should click when you turn on Ignition or mixture out, That should get you started to finding problem

You are using the choke, right?

yes... warm it up for 5 mins and it will stall 10 and it will just tick over, 15 and it will be fine then as it gets hot it will over rev... will take a look at soleniod tomorrow cheers.
