I am having next to no luck locating a decent set of mags for my MB, :x

Can anyone with 13" by 5.5" rims that fit under the guards tell me the manufacturer so i can give them a call. :?:

Have a look at:

Performance Alloy Wheels
Speedy Wheels
Starcorp Wheels (Tempe)
Advanti Racing

If you want more variety you might have to look at 14" rims.

175/50/R14 from memory.

The brands I listed above should do 13" rims in the correct offset though. They did last time I looked.

Just a quick note.
Went to tempe on Sat (02 AuG 08) and the only size rim they had in the right stud config was 14 inch by 6 inch wide. Not real helpful about either.

Tempe are the least helpful wheel/tyre store I have ever come across. If you want to walk in the door and drop $2500+ on a set of ugly chrome wheels then they're your guys, but if you want customer service then look elsewhere.

Jermaine, the offset should be stamped on the back of the wheel spokes.

I second that about temp tyres, i went in to tempe tyres in fyshwick when i was living in queanbeyan a couple of yrs ago looking for rims for my GTR. the wanker behind the counter was more interested in playing solitar on the computer than helping me, after about 10 min of walking around and standing at the counter he decided to ask if he could help. WHAT HELP?? couldn't tell me what rims fit and couldn't be bothered to find out or how much they would cost.

I ended up walking out of the shop and telling him to jam his tyres and company where the sun don't shine and if that he is more interested in playing games on his computer then i will go by rims and tyres else where.

It would seem that even after 2 yrs their service hasn't gotten any better.

Sounds like Ozzy to me! I had a similar reaction when I went to get new tyres for the crumbledore. Guy was fart arsing around on the computer, the guys out the back we standing around talking. Didn't acknowledge me, so I walked out.

Yep thats Ozzy. Like Tempe if you go in there knowing exactly what you want with cash in hand then they will do you a good deal, but they don't do customer service.

For example, my sister was chasing tyres for her Baleno. We tried a few places and got jack of being quoted $200+ per tyre, so we went into Ozzy and they did the same tyre (Falken Ziex 205/40/ZR17) for $150 fitted and balanced.
No dicking around, I told them I had cash in hand and wanted their best price.

I had a set of rims and there where no numbers of importance to the offset on the rim, i looked them up on the net also and they do not display it.
A friend told me that if you just measure from the inside of the rim to the mounting of the rim the dealer can find the offset from there (sounds logical to me) just need to find a dealer that is any goood at there job!!!

Just to hijack this thread again, for all those in the brisbane area. give NETA TYRES in virginia (i think thats the suburb) a ring for tyres, mainly deal with federal tyres which aren't great but for the money they ain't bad either.

The last time i needed some el cheapo tyres for the back of the GTR, it worked out cheaper for me to drive to brisbane and pick up 2 tyres (275/40x17) than it was to buy them here. Even allowing cost of fuel to run down there and then fitment costs when i got home still saved me approx $60.

Worth giving them a bell if you are looking for tyres and see what they quote.

Cheers.
