Condenser! I had this problem, and just like yours it drove fine for the first few hours and stopped. It cost me too much money replacing parts that didn't need to be replaced, the issue was the condenser.
do the points as well, always replace the points and condenser as a set because they wear in together to become a matched set, if you only replace one you can pretty well guarantee that the other will die in a few weeks.
