F8B EFI turbo - Three pots and a snail.
I was under the impression that as a commercial, the MB does not require a cat.
So many delays to getting my MB back in order with 993cc & 5 speed transaxle... neighbor issue gone, donor shell up on rotisserie, new sheds on the way.... another project also..
Yep, as Billie says commercial has nothing to do with requirement for cat converter in NSW/ACT. If the engine you are installing was factory fitted with a cat then you need to use one.

Must admit it is a couple of years since I looked at the mod codes for engine swaps in Qld.

The Cat requirement in the ACT is due to the general upgrade requirements when modifying a car like this. It also included an unleaded fuel filler, laminated windscreen, two speed windscreen wipers.
Under the NCOP you only have to comply with the ADR's at the time of manufacture of the vehicle. This new engine, new emissions thing was never part of the NCOP or at least that I what I have done when engineering cars in the ACT and I have never had one pulled up or questions asked.
From the NCOP
Modified vehicles must continue to comply with the Australian Design Rules (ADRs) to which they were originally constructed, except as allowed for in the Australian Vehicle Standards Rules (AVSR). These modified vehicles must also comply with the applicable in-service requirements of the AVSR.
Modified pre-ADR vehicles must continue to comply with the AVSR.

I have not checked into the thread in a while, nice to see some progress, pitty about the bearings but it was better than destroying them out on the road.
In a mighty boy, with a f5a/f8b you don't need a cat, even if you go efi & boost it, loophole in adr27a, as it's under 850cc.
Cheers
