Hi
I have pulled out my daughters motor ( blown Head) after purchasing a motor and gearbox(500) to find out that it is a F8 on removing her engine.
I have two Questions 1 Are the heads interchangeable and what size bore is a 800?
2 Is there any way of identerfying the 4spd from a 5 spd as I might have a 5 spd already?
Any help would be apreciated.

F8 motor questions
A 5 speed box will be identifiable by the fact that it looks nothing like a 4 speed box, requires custom driveshafts, and has an extra gear.
The F5A and F8B heads are not interchangeable, as the F8B has larger valves. Not sure on the bore sizes, I'll have to consult my workshop manual.

F8B EFI turbo - Three pots and a snail.
That never ceases to amaze me given how similar the engines are in their overall design and construction...Colin wrote:oil and water passages are different too.

It requires a custom machined adaptor for the flywheel housing too, doesn't it... (?)Brayden wrote:A 5 speed box will be identifiable by the fact that it looks nothing like a 4 speed box, requires custom driveshafts, and has an extra gear.
