so im doing a swap from a cooked f8a to an f10a. Everything has gone together easy enough. New motor was from a newer model apparently had fuel pump in tank, put in an electric pump and all good.
Problem ive come across now is the F10 starter only has two terminals. old f8 had 3. Was thinking i would just swap the f8 starter onto the f10, but it is much physically smaller. Will this work or which wires do i use on the new one?
Starter motors f8a vs f10a
F10 starter should have three connections - one goes to the ignition barrel, one to the coil and the large one straight to the battery.
Unfortunately I don't have an ST90 wiring diagram to confirm wire colours for you. All I have is the SK410.

right so had another tinker, it appears the third wire on the f8 is earthed or more likely shorted somewhere. and there is definitely only two wires on the f10 starter. will get some pictures tomorrow, unfortunately the boss is putting on free beer today so no time to play for the rest of the afternoon
