Hi, Recently my window wipers started parking in the up position.
The actual wipers function fine, but when i turn them off they set to the up position.
Its pretty annoying having the wipers in your face all day.
If i cut power to the wipers whilst down they will stay down. But that's not what i want.
I would like the wipers to function normally.
Is there a way to fix this? Or replace the wiper motor?
Thanks for any help.
Window wipers park in up position.
Hi Hatch83
Welcome to the forum.
When you say they 'park in the up position' do they actually stop wherever they are when you turn the switch to off, or do they in fact continue running until they get to that spot and stop there...?

Sounds like someone disassembled the wiper assembly (possibly during a respray) and refitted the motor/linkages incorrectly.

Inside wiper mechanisms, there's a contact plate that provides power to the motor to enable the motor to run on, when the wipers are turned off, just so that they can (normally!) return to the park position. I wonder if your contact plate has become dislodged and rotated around the axis somehow so that it's still working, but in a different part of the arc? Unlikely, I know...
