yeh ive herd of the specs and seen that article before. but just wanna hear things, ya know get a convo going and then more mighty boy owners may possibly get more modivation and knock back those comments like ha! a mighty boy no chance against my 2.0ltr RX or something like that.
Its other peoples experience and adice/articles that give me my modivation. Brayden is the one that basically made me want to buy a mighty boy and then colin and edave made me want the speed.

Cheers, its also kool to keep a forum like this going aint it?

*lol* No Scott, 98RON fuel won't give you rocket-power. In fact, in my experience 98RON fuel will actually give you less power than say 95RON fuel in an unmodified F5A / F8B engine because the burn rate is so much slower than the 92RON fuel it was designed to run on, and the engine has too low a compression ratio to really take advantage of it. You can pick this because you can advance the ignition timing to the point where you're losing power through very early ignition without suffering any detonation.

If that's the same engine the Chris built up for MYD-80Y several years ago then I recall him saying that he had a Stage 2 cam machined up for it. It certainly seemed to go alright when I drove it. But those plates and that car have changed hands a few times since then, I have no idea whether that's the same engine or not...

98 RON fuel can assist in the production of more power and better overall fuel economy in an engine built to take advantage of it, but at best in an unmodified F5A / F8B you're going to get a little less bang for your buck for the reasons outlined in my last post.

A lot of the "98 RON fuel is better for your car" hype really refers to the additives put in the fuel by manufacturers - Shell and their product Optimax in particular. Many here and elsewhere will attest to the additives causing them grief and that the fuel products containing them are to be avoided.

The appropriate K&N filter to suit the standard Suzuki MightyBoy air intake is K&N Part No. E-2570

I believe that F5A and F8B have the same intake assembly and accept the same filter type.

Could somebody else please confirm?
