hi, im from redline been reading this forum for a while now and thought i'd introduce myself. I don't have a mighty boy but i have a gti. I'd love to buy a mighty boy one day, just scared i would buy one and have to many problems with the engine and getting parts cause of there age. Still i would like to read more about them and maybe buy one soon. Now that i'm out of school and just got a new full time job it may be possible to have my own. (you may remember me from marques in the park 07)

Thanks for reading

Parts aren't really an issue, except for grilles and tail lights which are worth a bomb. Everything else is still pretty common, especially mechanical parts because they were shared with other models. ;)

Hey all!

We are Chris and Ash

Chris is 23 and Ash is 22 and come from near newcastle we've owned 2 hatches over 4 years and we both love them. Why? Chris has always loved Minis and Ash has always loved VW beatles mix them together you get a hatch... and plus our first one only cost us $300 with 6 months rego which only needed a $30 repair for it to run like a dream

Been visiting this site for awhile now found it great fun, only been a forum member for a few days but already using it to its best :D

we currently own a fading brown 83 hatch owned for 1 year
Price: $50 with pinkslip
Engine:f8b 800 (in a few days)original 550
gearbox: f5a 4speed
wheels: CSA 12" multi spoke (unknown style)
stereo: JVC deck, 2x10" kickers, 2x6"jvc, 840 watt amp, 222 what amp
inside: black 82 model dash, plastic kickpanel covers, black floor within the month back seats
body: rolled rear gaurds nudge bar.
future plans: have parts Sunroof, gti side skirts, 4" speakers. Planning: Paintjob, carpet, custom interior, stereo upgrade, and masically a full overhaul/mini pimp

our first car and engine donor
was a 82 silver pocet rocket hatch
price: $300 6 months rego
Engine: F8b
Gearbox: 2 speed Auto
stock with 12' wheels had custom blue interior pannels used to be a great ride
sadly we rolled it (yes we were both in it) but still managed to flip it over and drive home with no injuries to us... the car was ofcourse written off..

so we sourced a new shell with a dead 550 for $50 (not the brown one) but ran into probems with the 800 engine swap (was auto to manual problems). so it sat in the yard 90% done..and we got a running 550 (the brown one) with a pink slip for $50

now that the engine is gone with abit more knowledge thanks to alot more thinking and this site and members we are doing the 800 swap again tomorrow to be exact.

now which leads to the other future plans and the end of my story (if you can still follow):
now we have our brown hatch with a 800 4 speed
and we have our a good shell and 2 dead 550
so we decided today to rebuild one good 550and but it in our replacement shell and restore it to be fully original complete with 10" tyres

ok thanks for reading. (it is 1 am maybe i'm over tired...)

any questions

Hello all

Like to say that i was very excited when i found this forum and i think its fantastic that people with a common interest in mad little cars can get advice, information and motivation from others who are like minded.

Im from The Shire, its in the south of Sydney. Most people will of heard of cronulla.... so kinda near there. I dont currently own an MB but i am searching for a NSW registered good little runner so if anyone knows of one id be very appreciative.

Look forward to talking to you all more. :)

G'day Nev, you're in the same area as Shane "Brokenshire" - it might be worth sending him a PM to see if he knows of anything for sale around there.

Welcome aboard.

so i guess this is where we say hi... Hi!!!

my name is jarrod, live in gympie, queensland. well at the moment i do but that could change anytime with me. found this sight doing research on MB. just bought my first MB about 3 weeks ago, what was to be a quick repair and drive job has turned into a roll in the shed and full restoration job.

after owning the MB for 3 weeks it has been slowly stripped down to nothing and is currently sanded back to bare metal, well about 3/4 of it is. (and yes i know... "where are the pics?"... you will just have to be patient and wait :) ) the entire MB will recieve a freshen up inside and out, the only thing that won't be touched at this stage is the engine bay as at a later stage i want to do an engine conversion. preferably the CB70/80 swap. For the time being i will make do with the reco F5A that is in it, maybe swap to the F8.

the little MB ute was bought cause i wanted one for yrs and i need something a little cheaper than the GTR to run as an everyday driver... damn fuel prices!!!

so thats me
