They should be sold with plugs or bungs in the fittings so no moisture get's in. As with any aircon component if new. Should also carry some warrenty, did you get to exchange it for another one?
yeah it had plugs and had that heat shrink ova it. but we took it back and got it replaced. im just saying wen u do buy one check it ova b4 install.

i have a 660cc daihatsu mira wich has aircon could be a good candidate for putting a/c in teh mboy..

It could be. Any pics of how & where the compressor mounts to the engine & how it's driven?

the big problem is the under dash bits. Most compressors will fit anything, the compressor mounts opposite the alternator.

Will fit anything with the right brackets & pulleys.
Something like what's in the link below, which is meant to be a compact under dash aircon bit, might be able to be adapted to a mighty boy. I know i've seen them on a website somewhere, but i can't find the site atm.
