I'm getting fairly good with practice but the spatter annoys me. I have a chunk of copper 20mm x 400 x 250, also a piece about 1/3 the size, I use as heat sinks.
Might buy one of those little disposable cans of gas and try that.

day 15!: been back at work so the going is slow. the roof framework is totally finished now so i can concentrate on the roof skin. this will be a big job, mainly the measuring out and marking. the old tradesmen always say "measure it 3times and cut it once." i`ll be taking my time. it`ll be done i think in 5 sections, one large centre piece, with 4 corner pieces . there will be joins inthe middle of the car, f+r, and side to side. the main centre section will help to keep the whole thing flat and hopefully distortion free. obviously a wee bit panelbeating and bog will be nes. well see..........

the saga continues.........roof now completely finished, tailgate fabricated but not completely skinned, still waiting on windows, or money to pay for them, 350 per side, mazda cx7, cx9, willdo the job. just fitted sa struts and lower king springs, still to make up new brake lines. wheels and tyres on, now to chop up the guards, wide body style, used to call it x-pack see mk 2 escort style. the motor is in for a rebuild, 800, wiseco pistons, still to confirm, blower and su waiting.....hope its not another year till my next post, will do pics soon, spoke to two diff. engineers and they both said it sounds like your fitting a canopy to a ute, (not quite), but it will be certified when finnished. thats it for the mo.
