Maaate $235.00 ya got a bargain!!!
The basic carby kit is $75.00 or so (add labour) & I have been quoted $400.00 for a decent rebuild (re-manufacture)
Best place to get a new or rebuilt carby to suit a 800cc??
So many delays to getting my MB back in order with 993cc & 5 speed transaxle... neighbor issue gone, donor shell up on rotisserie, new sheds on the way.... another project also..
My last professional rebuild cost $200 from a joint near Highpoint on Rosamond road. Can't remember the name of the place be he has been there a very long time. That rebuild was about 18mths ago, so i'd expect it to cost about $230 now.
Last time the carby needed a rebuild i grabbed a kit & my g/f's grand dad helped me rebuild it. It was a learning experience and a good reason i want to change the mighty boy to EFI, i hate carbies! I like old car's but just hate carbies.

Nah, i took the carby into him, was running the boy on the spare carby, but it did include that when i fit it back onto the mighty boy, i was able to take the car to him & he sorted the idle speed & acc & choke cables adjustments. Car ran great for ages after that, until i picked up some shitty fuel & clogged the carby again.bazeng wrote:Did that include him pulling the carby off the car also?
IE, drop the car off, let him do his work and put it back on?
Sounds like he could be the go for my mighty boy too...
