Regarding brakes, i'm surprised that there was nothing that needed to be done to them, ie adding in a booster or fitting twin piston calipers in place of the std ones.

I'm having a hard time working out if i will need a booster or other brake mods when i turbo my F8b. The engineer originally wanted me to fit larger brakes to just fit the F8b, until i shown him how they are the same in my boy as per the alto where the engine come from......

Cheers

As per my build, the engineer was happy with slotted front rotors and upgraded pads. The brakes passed multiple tests, but he was concerned that the force exerted on the pedal was quite high, and suggested I installed a booster.

Because I have no issues with leaning on the pedal I'm going to upgrade the rotors and calipers instead.

Did you get the flex lines from Suzuki or aftermarket? Nice work on the power at the wheels, that's a long way up on the probably about 13kw std with the F5a!

Thanks
I got the lines made up at a local place in Darwin. Each line cost me $30 to get done, so 4 for front and 2 for rear cost me $180.

That sound's really cheap for the brake lines. I bet the peddle feels much better with the new lines.

Finally got to take the ute for a nice run today and it was great. Not sure what my top speed was but i got it past 120km/h on the clock and around to the S in speed on the dial and it still wanted to go more, but i was a really windy day and it started to float a bit at that speed.
I'm still only running 10psi boost so i might wind that up a bit later on and take it down the drags to see what time i can get. I will need to wait for the season to start back up again before i can do that and that will be in a couple of months (they dont run the drags here in the wet season).

Nice work dude, i'd love to know how much power it would have with more boost, and what sorta 1/4 time it would turn!

My GPS has told me my little ute pulls to 135 with the rebuilt F8b, running the F5a gearbox. The f8b box would give it some more legs.......

Cheers

At a guess i would say i got to 160 or 170kph the other day, its a shame we don't have an open speed limit any more ,130kph is as fast as are allowed to go now and the cops love to sit on the highway and book people.
