That's rather interesting. Is it a magnetic or optical pickup inside? Why is the vac advance still in use in cruise, can't the crane module sort that out?

Cheers

Hey guys, time for an update. Well things are looking good, got the bottom end together and painted :) , just have to concentrate on the cyl head now. Also sent the front struts off to koni for inserting before new years,( they reckon they could be ready as soon as tommorrow :D ) and hopefully i will get the rest of the front suspension bushes fitted this week. I have run into a problem with the alto works dash i wanted to fit though. I have to come up with a way to get the tacho working without the factory ecu , as i think it uses the signal from the ecu to trigger the tacho. If anyone knows more about these dashboards please feel free to pm me. Its the dash with a 12,000rpm tach.

It's awesome when it gets to this stage, you can almost see light at the end of the tunnel...
It's even more exciting when you have the complete engine together, ready to dolt to the gearbox. 8)

Steve, I thought the dolt went in the seat behind the wheel, lol.
So many delays to getting my MB back in order with 993cc & 5 speed transaxle... neighbor issue gone, donor shell up on rotisserie, new sheds on the way.... another project also..

Your right about seeing the light at the end of the tunnel :D .Whats made it even better today is i picked up the koni struts for the front end :D These were the last piece i needed for the front suspension.

Interesting thumb in the last pic! Do you know that in palmistry that thumb symbolizes someone who refuses employment. Now I know it is a wrong definition on you, but it is seriously known as a non workers thumb.

Hopefully we are still on target. I am going to tackle a bit of wiring this weekend, hopefully, while i wait for a couple of things for the engine :)

Cool man. I'm almost behind my target to get my front bar on, new drivers seat in & rebuild + fit a F8b gearbox. I probably won't get the gearbox done before the cruise.

Cheers

Dude I'd be seriously pushing to get the gearbox done. 300kms at 5000RPM is not good for any motor!
