I've got a question for all of you.

Keeping in mind that a bare-bones stock mightyboy with no occupants or junk in it weighes 580kg at the kerb, what does the car you drive weigh?

Things like body kits, stereo equipment (sub boxes & door reinforcement etc), fibreglass tray covers, turbo kits, neons and whathaveyou all add a fair amount of weight to the car. Heck, even in Brayden's case, even the paint must have added a few extra kg's (we know how thin the paint is! :P ) Has anyone actually gone to the trouble of weighing their car all modded?

Would an additional 100kg's be out of the question do you think?

I'm going to the weighbridge next week, and I'd estimate a 50-60kg increase maximum for mine.

Weight increases in my case are:
- Turbo + 5kg
- Swaybars + 6kg
- Rims +10kg
- Hard cover / wing +8kg
- Sub, box and amp +15kg
- Side skirts +5kg

Someone asked me the same question the other day. I don't believe so, but I can't categorically state that this is the case. :|

Even with the extra weight of the turbo, the extra power will easily overcome the weight of all your add-ons.
And i don't think your rims will weigh that much more than the standard steel ones.

when went to the tip here in hobart they had a weighbridge. the MB (F8B) weighed in at 760kgs i think, from memory, or there abouts. that was with me and my gf, fair bit of crap in the back. no subs just CD player four little speakers, spare tyre .... um that's about it.

Standard rims only weigh about 6kg with tyres, and the 15's with rubber are at least 11kg each.

As an aside, my sister's bling bling Suzuki Baleno has some stupid ass chromies on it that weigh over 20kg each with tyres, so she pretty much carries the weight of an entire fat person with her all the time. Idiotic if you ask me, it kills the accelleration of the thing.
